Wontons in Chilli Vinegar Dressing


  • 400g ground pork
  • 2 cups prawns, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 sprig spring onion, chopped
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese 5 spice powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 package wonton wrappers

Mix all these ingredients and knead until well blended.

Lay out wonton wrappers and place half a teaspoon of mixture in each wrapper.

Brush water on the edges and wrap up into desired shape. Boil vegetable or chicken stock, boil wontons until they are floating and cooked through.


Chilli Vinegar Dressing

  • 6 tbsp chinkiang vinegar
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp chilli oil

Heat everything in a small saucepan until sugar dissolves. Add chilli oil last and do it in parts! It might be a lot spicier than you think it is. Spoon dressing over wontons and serve immediately.
